Automatic train warning system (ATWS)

Construction / large construction sites

Minimel Lynx is the warning system to protect worksites in the field of rail-bound transport network. It detects train movements in the most diverse track conditions and delivers individual and collective warnings at the right place. Due to the modular design, the use of the same device is possible at small and large construction
sites. These diverse application possibilities lead to a high utilisation of the devices.

When used as "Automatic Train Warning System" (ATWS), the trains are detected by means of rail treadles that are connected to a HSF-L. When the train departs from the construction site, it is manually acknowledged at the EZE-L or automatically
via rail treadle.

Minimel Lynx is typically used as ATWS at construction sites with a range of a few hundred meters as well as track renewals, and even at longer construction sites, which are divided into individual warning sectors of a few hundred meters in length.

Example of use

The train detection is done by rail treadles (RSK-R, RSK89, RSR123). The acknowledgment of the trains can be done manually (semi-automatic mode) or automatically, as shown below. In automatic mode the counting takes place in the same way as in train detection by rail treadles.

The device is supplied with power via power battery, grid or emergency power group. The Power Box (ESP-L) distributes the power to the warning device (EWK-L, AW126-L) and the central unit (EZE-L). The Power Box can also be used by the operator as an on /off switch for the system. In order to increase the autonomous operation of the train detection (HSF-L, RSK-R, RSR123), a power battery is available.

The warning is given with the radio-controlled EWK-L, which can be extended with the wired AW126-L into a warning chain. The EWK-L can also be used to focuse the warning in case of noise sources, such as rail road excavator. In this way, a noise-optimised construction site can be built.

The collective warning can be combined with individual warning devices (Minimel EPW), with radio warning devices of the Minimel 95 family (EWK) or with the machine warning combination (MWK).

Maximum configuration
In a radio space, up to 5 systems (EZE-L) can be operated at one radio frequency. Each EZE-L can control up to 4 HSF-L and 10 EWK-L via radio. The warning chain can be extended with 16 AW126-L per EWK-L.
